Unless stated otherwise, SUSS Culture Fest patrons (the “Patron”) shall be subject to sections (I), (II), and (III) under the Singapore University of Social Sciences Acknowledgement of Risks, Consent and Release, Insurance and Waiver of Liability, where applicable.

(I) RISKS

1. The Patron’s participation in the programme/activity (“Activity”) as described in the table above may involve certain amount of risks (medical and/or non-medical including but not limited to sustaining personal injuries and/or loss of life should serious accidents occur). The Patron shall attend/read the pre-programme briefing/materials provided by the Activity’s programme organisers/ partners/ vendors / volunteers engaged by SUSS and understand, specifically, the potential risks and hazards of the Activity and how these may impact the Patron’s health and safety.

2. The Patron shall undertake to always cooperate fully with SUSS (or any third party organiser engaged by SUSS) and to diligently comply with all safety and other instructions whenever the Patron participates in the Activity.

3. The Patron irrevocably undertakes that they shall not, to the fullest extent permitted by the laws of Singapore, hold SUSS, its staff, officers, faculty, volunteers or any of its authorised agents responsible for damage to or loss of any personal property or personal injury or death that may arise as a result of the Patron’s participation in the Activity, save for personal injury or death resulting from the negligence of SUSS, its staff, officers, faculty, volunteers or any of its authorised agents.

(II) CONSENT AND RELEASE

4. SUSS may collect, use and disclose the Patron’s personal data, as defined by the Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (“PDPA”) for and in connection with: a) processing, administering and planning the Patron’s registration and/or payment for the Activity; b) maintaining Activity participants’ database; responding to the Patron’s queries about the Activity; c) obtaining the Patron’s feedback on their experience for the Activity; d) and sending the Patron updates and news on future events organised by SUSS and/or its collaborating organisations that may be of interest to the Patron.

5. The Patron consents to SUSS disclosing their personal data to its service providers, agents, collaborating and/or funding organisations in connection with the planning, implementation, facilitation of or providing of any assistance (including medical treatment and any medical emergency procedures) during the Activity. The Patron further consents to SUSS disclosing their personal data to third parties who are outside of Singapore on the basis of SUSS’ Personal Data Protection Statement appended hereto as Annex A.

6. The Patron agrees that photographs, audio and video recordings of participants of the Activity, including the Patron may be created by SUSS (the “Material”), its employees, representatives, agents and appointed media organisations on the understanding that: a) The Material may be used in audio, video, film or any other electronic, digital and printed media, including display on SUSS’s websites, the websites of its collaborators and/or social media, solely for the purposes of or in connection with promoting the Activity and furthering knowledge and education and associated publicity of SUSS (the “Purpose”); b) SUSS and its collaborators may use the Patron’s name and quote them in connection with the use of the Materials for the Purpose if it so chooses; c) Neither SUSS nor its collaborators will use or reproduce the Material for any commercial or monetary gain; d) the Patron will not receive monetary compensation for the use of the Material by SUSS or its collaborators; and the Patron releases and relieves SUSS and its collaborators from any liabilities, known or unknown, arising out of the use of the Material.

7. The Patron agrees that it shall be their responsibility to exclude themselves from group and/or candid shots or recordings by the SUSS, its employees, representatives, agents or appointed media organisations during the Activity if they do not wish to be photographed and/or recorded.

8. If the Patron collects and/or keep personal data of any kind (whether in soft copy or paper records) on behalf of SUSS in connection with the organizing of or during the Activity, the Patron understands that they shall be personally responsible for complying the provisions of the PDPA. The Patron shall undertake to observe the standard operating procedures in relation to their collection, use and handling of personal data which are annexed hereto as Annex B.

(III) INSURANCE (FOR SUSS STUDENTS AND ALUMNI ONLY)

9. For full-time students: the Patron is aware that SUSS partners with Zurich Insurance Company Ltd for the provision of group group personal accident insurance, and with Howden Medihub for the provision of group insurance for outpatient GP, outpatient specialist, hospitalization and surgical coverage. The Patron is aware that they may purchase additional insurance coverage for the Activity on their own account, if they deem that it is necessary to do so.

10. For part-time students and alumni: the Patron is aware that SUSS partners with Zurich Insurance Company Ltd for the provision of group personal accident insurance for its part-time students and alumni who participate in the Activity (excluding outpatient GP, outpatient specialist, hospitalization and surgical coverage). The Patron is aware that they may purchase additional insurance coverage for the Activity on their own account, if they deem that it is necessary to do so.

11. The Patron is made aware that the relevant insurance information is available on SUSS website should they require more information.

12. The Patron is aware that all insurance coverage provided by SUSS is on a reimbursement basis. The Patron agrees to fully pay all costs of medical care that they may receive before submitting the bill to the relevant insurer for reimbursement in accordance with the applicable insurance coverage benefits table.
